If I haven't expressed it recently, I still strongly believe that my daughter is about the most hilarious and wondrous gift bestowed upon me. She is smart beyond belief and continuously amazes us by her abilities and tenacity for learning. She is a problem-solver and negotiator. She knows what she wants and aims for it.
The above picture is one of my all-time favorites. She is a sweetheart that requires a routine at bedtime and will promptly inform you if you don't read a book, brush her teeth, or put socks on her feet. There is no getting by Lydia. She needs her water by her bed, her dollies tucked in, and her favorite blanket on top of her quilt.
Lydia can now articulate her day. She will inform us that she was served broccoli at lunch and simultaneously refused to eat it. She will eat pizza, chicken, and blackberries all dipped in ranch. Ketchup is intended for grapes, strawberries and toast. She is tenacious in her approach at gymnastics and swim class. She knows boundaries (if only set by her).
We have begun to raise a very independent and forward-thinking daughter. At three years old, she is the center of our world.
