Christmas with a 3.5 year old brings new breath and magic into the season. Lydia is fascinated with all the splendor and wonder that is the Christmas Season. Gifts, Santa, and our Elf on the Shelf, Mya.
There are so many highlights of the holiday season:
1. Lydia rushing out to the tree on Christmas morning with wide eyes and a gasp of awe!
2. Lydia shyly warming up to Santa Claus and finally sitting on his lap at Christmas Eve as he brought her roller skates.
3. Lydia yelling out "Isaiah" as her class was asked the prophet that followed the road to Bethlehem for Jesus' birth during her Advent Night at School.
4. Lydia's constant amusement following her elf, Mya around the house as she got into North Pole mischief.
5. Lydia's sweet concern for everyone else to ensure they received gifts as well.
6. The excitement in her voice as she passed light displays through neighborhoods.
7. The questions about the reality of Santa Claus
Lydia is our blessing and such a gift. As our schedules get increasingly hectic, she grounds me and reminds me of the importance of finding the work/life balance and gives me a thousand reasons to come home and spend time as a family. She is constantly amazing us with her wit and humor.
