First Movie

Brett and I are on the board for the Children's Hospital of Illinois' Advocacy Group (MOSAIC). They hosted a movie and popcorn event at the Rave Motion Pictures this weekend. The event was intended to promote the CHOI as well as the advocacy department that focuses on safety, wellness and accident prevention. The movie on the docket was "The Smurfs." We were anxious to take Lydia to see how she would do with the new experience. She was a huge fan of the popcorn and was able to sit through an hour of the movie! She sat in the booster seat between us with her popcorn and narrated each scene of the movie from her perspective. I can't imagine how a 2 year old interprets little blue things running through the streets of New York, but she was happy to yell out their colors and dictate their actions.

We opted to leave after an hour and fifteen minutes to come home, but were very happy that she was able to attend to the movie for that long. The movie was a hybrid of animation and actors with a plot that was not stimulating for 2 year olds.
