And so it begins....

Today Lydia enjoyed her first day of preschool. I consider it preschool with training wheels, since daddy was able to accompany her along the way the first day. She officially starts going solo next week. Needless to say, I was sad I couldn't be there, but I was happy that Brett was able to share in such a special milestone for Lydia.

In Lydia's eyes, I imagine preschool feels like one big playground in which she can run around, play with toys, listen to stories and make new friends. Miss Socialite loves to meet new kids and play with them. I was able to have Brett snap some pictures of me with my big girl this morning before I left for work.

In reflecting on the experience of enrolling Lydia in preschool and getting her supplies ready, I do have to say that I feel incredibly blessed that I have the opportunity to send Lydia to an accredited program. It is not only a blessing that the program is offered to us, but that we have an incredible sitter that is willing to transport Lydia to the church so that she can attend the program. As I strive to be a life-long learner, the love and passion for learning is one thing I want to instill in Lydia. That journey began today as she walked through the hall of the learning center. I look forward to this year and all the new concepts Lydia will learn and how she will continue to flourish into her own little person!
