Let her Eat Cake

So, it was brought to my attention by Jamie (love ya) that I have been a slacker blogger this past week. I agree. It has been a busy week. I haven't even gotten my camera out as much. The weather has been a bit oppressive and has interfered with any outdoor plans we have had, so Lydia and I are making the most of indoor activities. That includes bringing her picnic table and trampoline inside (temporarily) so that we have some "more" fun things to do inside.

We concluded Kindermusik Summer classes this week. We are debating about registering for the fall and are trying to decide if that will fit into our schedules. Lydia loves it and has been doing a great job with listening to directions and interacting with her friends. We have been working diligently on teaching her to share and take turns. She is doing well considering she is a toddler and those are two skills that are difficult for any toddler to master.

Lydia and I went to Pajama Time Story Time at the North Branch Library tonight. We had a great time. The librarian read two stories, played a game, sang nursery rhymes and then had the kids "sew" a doll pillow. Lydia loved the pillow and uses it with her "babies" now.

Lydia's bedroom furniture is IN! My parents are bringing it to Peoria TOMORROW! I am so stinkin' excited. We chose to get a white set (dresser, twin bed, nightstand, and bookcase) from Pottery Barn Kids. Click HERE to see the Catalina Collection that we ordered. We are also in the process or ordering the bedding from there too. The plan is to order the Addison Collection.
We hope to order the bedding by the end of the month to complete the new look by her birthday.



In party planning news, I ordered a cake similar to the one pictured below. I found this cake online and fell in love with it. Lydia's will be strawberry on the top and bottom layers and lemon in the middle. It will also say Happy 2nd Birthday Lydia in red icing along the bottom layer.
