The closest we got to getting a picture of all of them together.... In other Lydia news... she is finally signing MILK. Her version of milk is not what it looks like in the books and DVDS, but it is consistent for the message she is trying to convey. She also has a few more signs in her repertoire; including, fish and sleep. I love when Lydia signs sleep. I think it is by far the cutest sign to watch a toddler do. She will only sign sleep when she is, in fact, sleepy, which makes it even more cute!
We attempted to finger paint tonight with the new no-mess Crayola paints. That was a parental fail as much of the finger paint went on the paper as it did in her mouth. It was a well-intentioned plan with less than desirable results. Of course, being the mom that I am , will likely frame and/or keep the resulting picture that she created in honor of the memory we created together.
Lydia has become increasingly interested in animals. ALL ANIMALS. Specifically her "Little People" animals that she will take out of the box and line up on the coffee table, end table, ottoman or any other similarly short item of furniture. She asks "WHAT'S THIS?!?" at every single animal she pulls out. When I tell her, if she knows the sign, she will sign it. If she doesn't, she'll smile and throw it back in the box or line it up with the others.
She is also in love with 'seats.' We currently have a booster seat, potty chair, and bath chair all in the dining room for our impending trip to Iowa. She likes to test out each seat, see how it feels, and move on to the next one.
Also, She LOVES music. She bops her head, spins, and dances like crazy when any music comes on. She was even entertaining us at Lowe's when we were waiting on finalizing our water heater and dishwasher purchases by dancing to the holiday music over the loud speaker. She will also attempt to somersault upon command. Although she cannot quite get her feet over her head, she will bend down with her head on the floor and get ready for someone to push her feet over when you ask her to do a somersault. She will also attempt to jump if you ask her to, although she has yet to get any air under her feet!
