Happy Halloween

Lydia's Halloween Events extended into October 31st even while I battled a short 24 hour flu bug. Although I felt miserable, I wanted Lydia to enjoy her first Halloween that she would be able to be out and about. We took her to the Shoppes at Grand Prairie to Trick or Treat. Lydia only went to a few stores to get candy (which we don't let her eat) and the rest of the time we spent walking around to see all the other kids. Lydia had a trick or treat bucket, but I think I made the mistake of getting one that was too big. She had a tough time holding on to it. I will make a mental note next year to buy a bucket that is proportional to that of my child's height. Trick or Treating felt a little awkward for us because we knew she wouldn't be eating the candy and neither of us needed/wanted any so we kept it to a minimum. We did, however, make it over to a neighbor's house for a potluck before trick-or-treating in the neighborhood and enjoyed when each of the neighbor kids came to our house to trick or treat! We were surprised when our neighbor, Courtney, rang the door bell in the same outfit Lydia was dressed in for Sunday night. Of course we took a cute picture of our silly chickens!
