Guttenberg 2010

Last weekend we spent in Guttenberg, Iowa along this Mississippi River at my brother-in-law's grandparent's home. It was a perfect weekend that consisted of lots of pontoon boat riding, delicious food on the grill, and lots of laughs with the Ellises.
Lydia was a trooper on the boat ride and wore her life jacket well. She loved riding on the pontoon. We were able to experience what it was like going through a lock and dam, had a great lunch on a restaurant that we pulled the boat up to, and had some great views of the River Valley. While we were on land, we rode around the island on a golf cart, attempted to fish (to no avail), sat around the fire pit, and enjoyed each other's company in the house. It was a great weekend away and we are hoping to repeat in sometime this fall when we can see the leaves change and check out the apple orchards with Lydia!
The downer of the trip was Lydia's nose dive into the dining room chairs. She hit her nose pretty hard. She only cried for a short time, but had a mark on her nose that is finally gone.

Our accommodations for the weekend. I was able to enjoy the hammock for a short while, but plan on revisiting it this fall with a great book and cup of coffee in the morning time!
A family snooze... Although, because I can't sleep anywhere besides a bed, I wasn't asleep. My counterparts-were.
Lydia's poor nose:(
