2 Weeks Old!

Lydia had her two week "well-baby" check yesterday with the pediatrician. She now weighs 7 lbs and 14 oz. She has averaged a weight gain of 2 oz. per day. I guess my concern with her eating enough is a mute point. She also measures 20 1/2 inches long. The doctor said everything else looks great. A good note was that he said their personalities that are developing now are usually consistent for when they grow older. Lydia is such a content and laid back baby so we are hopeful that this continues.

We have been doing tummy time a few times a day to help Lydia develop her neck and shoulder muscles as well as explore her world from a different point of view. Today we gave her the mirror and she was fixated on it for quite awhile. I wonder if she knows that it is her looking back in the reflection.


We also tried having Lydia explore the 'gym.' She really liked the music and the contrast of colors. There was so much for her to look at above her. She began kicking and waving her arms like crazy once the music played and she saw the lights twinkle above her head!
Yesterday, Lydia also had a few visitors. Mary Beth came over to meet Lydia and spend time with mommy. Kylie and Patrick came over later in the evening with some delicious mexican food. Lydia is always so well behaved when there are guests. She is content to be held by whomever or sit in her swing or boppy.
