Wow...

Just as many strangers do, a lady at Target asked me when I was due... I responded "next week." How crazy is that? I was erasing some old text messages and erased one from January from Lindsay when she found out we were expecting... She asked when I was due then and the response of "August" seemed so far away. It is crazy that we have come almost an entire nine months since I took the at home pregnancy test and gave Brett his birthday gift. My belly has made the biggest change in the pregnancy. I remember thinking at 15 weeks that I had a little baby bump (that no one else could see except me and maybe Brett). Now there is no denying that my belly is the warm home to an increasingly growing little baby girl.

As I organized my 'junk' drawer in the bedroom, I also came upon some pictures from the Outback Bowl in late December. At that point, I was a mere 8 weeks pregnant. Although I was experiencing the most sore boobs EVER, you would never have guessed that I was growing a baby! Our New Year's Eve consisted of a super Italian Dinner, but I was in bed by 11pm. I have a feeling that our next New Year's Eve will be equally tame (unless of course the Hawks make it to the Rose Bowl!)

Most of our conversations turn to talking about Lydia; what she will look like, be like, how our lives will change, places we will take her, things we will teach her, ect., but Brett and I both agree that our marriage is paramount. We have received a lot of great advice from friends and family regarding the importance of making time for each other. We hope to make date nights and quality time a cornerstone of our weeks and days. We want to make sure Lydia is acutely aware of how much her parents love her, but equally, how much they value and love each other.
