Tanner's Orchard

We are fortunate to live within 20 minutes of an expansive apple orchard that provides family fun each fall. We've been going to Tanner's since we were students at Bradley and enjoy it each year. This year, we went to Tanner's on a week night. The lines and crowds on a weekend are typically unsightly and difficult to navigate. On a Thursday night, they were quiet and manageable. We enjoyed a meal from the deli and an opportunity to purchase apple doughnuts and cider. A feature of the apple orchard is their "Back 40 acres" which is a large play area for kids. Lydia enjoyed playing in the space for the evening in addition to feeding the goats and playing in the pumpkin patch without being interrupted.  Whereas we missed out on apple picking and the train ride, we were able to more comfortably access all the areas of the orchard on our own.
