It is hard to believe that spring break has come and gone. The week that we were off was a blur! We spent Easter in Iowa, a few days at home, and then spent a wonderful few days at Grand Bear Resort and Lodge in Utica. The lodge was a perfect place to take Lydia. Only a little more than an hour away from home, it was jam packed with toddler fun! The waterpark was by far the favorite destination for Miss Lydia. She closed down the waterpark each night by swimming, sliding, and floating til 10pm! We allowed for her to stay up late and make the most of her break! Of course, this resulted in later morning wake up times and we weren't opposed to that!

Another highlight was the train that picked up visitors at the lodge entrance and transported us to the amusement park. Although the amusement park was within walking distance, half the fun was riding the train to get there! On numerous occasions, we asked the driver to take "the long way" so that Lydia could enjoy the ride. At the amusement park, there were two rides that were conducive for toddlers. Lydia LOVED those two rides. In addition, there were three bounce houses that offered slides and jumping fun!
On our final day, we hiked in Starved Rock. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the park and made our way home. We enjoyed our time there as a family immensely. We look forward to a return trip in the near future!
