Easter Hunts

Easter Hunts were abound this weekend. We were able to make it to the Peoria Zoo and Northtrail Hunts. Both were well done and Lydia loved them... The first hunt found Lydia going to each egg, opening it, and dumping it's contents in her bucket. This resulted in fewer eggs, but equal amounts of fun. The candy filled eggs were mostly chocolate, so Oma and I were really happy! The zoo also had a large bunny named Cadbury in their education room and face painting. Lydia had bunny whiskers painted on her face, but insisted they were cat whiskers  and spent the rest of the day meowing. At the last minute, we opted to go to the Northtrail hunt since it was near our home. This wasn't as busy and Lydia had her strategy down. She went to the swings in the playground and then gathered as many eggs as she could. Once all the eggs were gathered, she meticulously opened each one. We had such a great time. Knowing that we like to pack as much as we can into the weekends, we weren't done there. After lunch and naps, Lydia had a "Bunny Hop" at gymnastics. She enjoyed an hour of open gym time in which she was able to spend some more time with the Easter Bunny and fine more eggs. It was great!
