It is not very often that a presidential candidate comes to central Illinois. Despite our political preferences, we wanted to attend the rally that was held at Bradley University. It was a unique experience to say the least. The security involved in keeping a candidate safe was interesting to observe. Mitt was surrounded by security, but we were able to get relatively close. Lydia clapped for him, although I think she is still an Obama fan.
After the event, we walked around campus taking in all the excitement and beautiful weather. Lydia received an American Flag from a Romney volunteer and enjoyed carrying that around. Although she didn't fully comprehend the scope of the event, we think it will be fun to reflect on the experience with her in the future.
