Emergency Expo

Each year the Shoppes at Grand Prairie is host to the Peoria County Emergency Expo. The Emergency Expo is a family-friendly event in which emergency agencies bring their vehicles for demonstration purposes. The vehicles range from police cards and fire trucks to the marine unit, bomb squad, and flight for life helicopter. Agencies such as FEMA and the America Red Cross are also on hand to display their disaster relief vehicles. A highlight for Lydia was the canine unit from the Peoria Police Department that included a bloodhound and a German Shepard. She also really enjoyed sitting in the police car and touching all the buttons. It is a wonderful event that the county puts on that kids absolutely love! I have been involved previously with the event with the Junior League of Peoria as a volunteer. We were thrilled that Lydia was able to enjoy it this year.
