Indianapolis Zoo

To conclude our brief trip to Indy, we opted for a hot day at their zoo. Barring any naps from Lydia, we risked our sanity on a 90 degree day to see what the zoo had to offer. Lydia was a trooper for the first two hours, looking at the animals and enjoying all the sights. After a snack, it was made rather apparent that it was time for a nap, and she did just that in her stroller while Brett and I were able to gaze amongst the animals in the Plains exhibit. Lydia missed seeing the giraffes, lions, cheetahs, and tigers, but woke up in time to see the elephant show and the desert experience.

A highlight of the zoo was the shark "petting" water table in which sharks were made available for kids and adults to touch. We were all able to touch one and it made Lydia laugh. We hoped to stay for the dolphin show, but the heat was exhausting and Lydia had made it clear that she wanted to go.

We enjoyed our family outing to the zoo. We loved spending the weekend together and visiting with some of the animals that we don't have at the Peoria Zoo...
