Going to the Zoo....
What's better than spending an afternoon at the zoo? Spending the afternoon at the zoo with an inquisitive and excitable toddler! We decided that after nap time, we would take Lydia to the zoo for the first time this season. We wanted to get out of the house and enjoy the sunny, albeit slightly chilly, afternoon. Walking through the gift shop into the first exhibit space with the monkeys, meerkats, and lemurs was exhilarating to Lydia. She laughed and giggled the entire time. We weren't planning on going to the outside exhibits, but Lydia charged ahead and we decided we would check them out. We were so glad we did! There was hardly anyone at the zoo and the animals were so lively and fun to watch. I thought she was going to go into overload when we saw the baboon. She went past each exhibit saying "What's This" and laughing at them while they played. We saw the lions outside, the various monkeys playing, and other species of animals that Lydia was in awe of. It was awesome to have Lydia really begin to interact and enjoy the experience!
