MVC Tournament

We traveled to St. Louis with Lydia to cheer on the BU Braves in the MVC Tournament. We left on Friday night and made it to Seven Gables Inn for our stay with Oma and Opa. We enjoyed wonderful accommodations (with fabulous cookies) and got up early on Saturday to enjoy some shopping and game day festivities. Lydia did a wonderful job with the changes in her schedule and managed to stay on schedule when we returned home on Sunday. The Braves couldn't upset the #1 seeded UNI Panthers, but we enjoyed a great weekend away.
A highlight of the weekend was a late dinner at the Fountain on Locust in which I had a great 'adult' grilled cheese sandwich and the perfect night cap; chocolate covered cherry martini! We were also able to do quite a bit of shopping on Saturday and Sunday which included stops at Crate and Barrel, Trader Joes, World Market, and Babies R Us (amongst others). Lydia was the recipient of some adorable outfits and new baby snack foods. She had her first try at graham snacks, which turned out to be a messy disaster in one of her new outfits. Note to self: equip Lydia with a bib before handing her a graham snack!

Another highlight was the simple fact that the weather was somewhat warm and we were able to enjoy a little bit of time outside without feeling rushed to get Lydia in and out of the car where it is warm. She was able to wear a few of her new spring outfits (and coordinating hats). The green outfit is one of my new favorites for her. She is wearing it while sitting on the bed in the hotel playing with her toys while we were getting dressed. The pink outfit was a great outfit to wear with her spring jacket! I am just giddy about spring coming and having the chance to get outside and enjoy the weather with Lyds!

Upon our return home, I also registered for swim lessons at Easter Seals. Angie and I had talked a while back about getting Landon and Lydia in the same swim classes. We chose Monday nights at 6pm and we start on March 22nd! I am so looking forward to our classes together!
