To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, Aunt Brittany supplied Lydia with a shamrock bib, of which she doubly saturated with baby food and milk over the course of the afternoon. If I do say so myself, she is one cute little leprechaun. Lydia did receive a card in the mail from Oma and Opa to help her celebrate the day.

Lydia's St. Patrick's Day
Lydia had a very memorable first St. Patrick's Day. Aunt Brittany visited from Iowa to take Lydia to the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Peoria. Although the pictures don't demonstrate it, Lydia is wearing her St. Patty's Day shirt under her pink coat. Lydia and Brittany were able to see some of the antics that occur in Peoria during the parade before coming home. Brett and I have neither been to the parade, so Lydia beat us in completing this feat.

We debated about what to do for dinner on St. Patrick's Day and eventually resolved to eat at Alexander's Steak House. They had prepared a Corned Beef and Cabbage special and provided green beer.

We took pictures of our Irish Feast. The broiled potatoes and carrots were my favorite!
We didn't want to omit Lydia from the "food" pictures, so we included a picture of her and her food for the meal, puffs! She had peas for dinner as a green tribute to the day's festivities. Her puffs were green apple flavored. I did debate for an extensive length of time adding green food coloring to her milk, but I haven't read any research about added food coloring to milk for infants and didn't want to do something to jeopardize her health, although I can't imagine it would have done much. There is always next year when she can have green milk.
