Baby Food Recipe #3: Pear Puree

All I needed to prepare the pear puree was my steamer pot and pears.
I quartered the pears and put them in the top of the steamer pot. The pears were ripe and therefore did not require any additional liquid in the bottom of the pan. The skins were kept on to keep in the nutrients during the steaming process.

The pears were put on medium heat and covered for about 7 minutes until they were tender.

I then peeled the skins off the flesh of the fruit. You will want to let the pears cool down a little bit before you do this. It was a little messy, but a lot of fun. I even was able to sample some of the pears during the preparation.

I pureed the pears and spooned the pears into individualized serving cups. I tasted the pears and it was delicious. I would recommend this for anyone that loves applesauce. It was an easy recipe that didn't take much preparation. I was able to create about 10 servings of pears from 3 small pears. Lydia LOVES pears!
