We had a great weekend with Oma, Opa, Brittany, and Rick. The Ellises got in to town on Friday night. The boys were volunteering at Erin Feis, Peoria's Irish Festival, so the girls hung out at home. On Saturday, the boys were charged with landscaping duty that took up the majority of the day. Uncle Rick was such a professional as he redesigned one of our berms, created a new berm, and redesigned the edging around our flower beds. The yard looks great!

As the boys worked hard, the girls went on a shopping excursion. Lydia did a great job and enjoyed her time with the big girls. Of course I ended up getting her a few new outfits including the one she is wearing in the picture below... I just love my baby girl. She is so adorable!

Ready for more shopping!
On Saturday, Lindsay and Andy visited Lydia as well. They were in town to prepare for a wedding that evening and wanted to meet her! They brought her the cutest dress, shoes, and set of CUBS booties. She is one spoiled little girl!

On Saturday evening, Oma decided Lydia was old enough to start reading on her own. Who knew our little one was so gifted that she could read at 4 weeks old? All joking aside, Lydia loves reading with Oma and mommy. One of her favorite books is, "Is There Really a Human Race?" She loves the pictures and the rhyming words. Before we go to bed we have started reading "Goodnight Moon" and "The Going to Bed Book." Even though she can't make sense of the meaning of the words, it is important for her to hear the rhymes and be exposed to books to help in her development!

Reading a book all by herself!
