Today was a Dunlap Grade School Skate Party at Peoria Palace. I wanted to skate with our students and Brett had plans. Hesitant to take Lydia, I decided to try it out. She blew me away! She received skates from Santa Claus for Christmas. Due to the weather, snow, and cold, we haven't had a chance to see her really try them out until today. The Skating Rink provides "Trainers" to young skaters and this was a blessing to Lydia's independence. She soared around the skating rink like a pro once she had the trainer. Her pink barbie skates needed to be adjusted to the 2nd level of independence and she was all smiles Her only desire to stop was driven by sips of neon green slushies. I know she would love to skate again anytime that we will bring her. I know if the weather continues to be cold, that we will return sooner than later. After all, her nap has been great today! It really wore her out!
