Sunny Day

The Children's Hospital of Illinois hosted "A Sunny Day" event for kids and families recently. The event included a silent auction, raffle, and concert by Julie K. Lydia is somewhat of a Julie K groupie. She loves her CDs and we listen to them in the car daily. I can't drive more than a block without Lydia asking for Sunny Day to play on the stereo.

Entering the Embassy Suites' ballroom, we were greeted with bright lighting, sunny decorations and picnic themed centerpieces. Lydia immediately began decorating a pinwheel as the program started. She was served a kid-friendly picnic lunch. Brett and I enjoyed an adult version of her lunch. During our lunch, a fashion show was done on stage.

Immediately following the fashion show, Julie K came on stage to sing "I Scream- You Scream!" As she started to sing, the wait staff brought out ice cream cups. Lydia didn't eat her ice scream, but she loved the sprinkles that came with the ice cream!



Lydia loved the concert and event. She even won a raffle prize full of art and craft supplies. We have been busy using the supplies to do different craft and art projects. We plan to attend the event again next year!
