It has to be every little girls' fantasy to dress up as a fairy and attend an elegant afternoon tea. Who am I kidding, it is still a fantasy of mine. Who could resist dressing up and heading to a ballroom decorated with the top decor, feast on a fairy banquet, and be entertained by ballerinas and music. We attended the Junior League of Peoria's "Frolic with the Fairies" Mother and Daughter Tea Party today. As anticipated, it was a magical event. As a mom, there is no greater joy than to see the smile of your child as they experience the wonder of the world around them.
Lydia was eager to dress in her tutu and 'butterflea' wings. Once she had her costume on, she was ready to go. The room was transformed to a winter wonderland and was beautiful. Snowflakes, crystals, and fairies dangled from the ceilings as the lighting magically changed throughout the evening.
We watched a fairy fashion show, had her photographs taken by Patricia, ate a fairy feast, listened to a concert by Julie K, and had an all around great time. The highlight for Lydia was Julie K, but the ballerinas were a close 2nd. She was mesmerized by them in the foyer and was brave enough to take a photo with them.
What a day for the memory books.
