Weekend at Oma and Opa's

Lydia spent this past weekend at Oma and Opa's house back in Cedar Rapids while Brett and I enjoyed a dinner theater experience and some time around the house. Needless to say, Lydia's schedule was filled with exciting play dates and new experiences while she was at Oma and Opa's house. She went sledding (all by herself down the hill!), had a play date with Cousins Scarlett and Grace at the PlayStation, visited her great-grandparents, and enjoyed playtime at their house in her new tent.

We are updated regularly through text messages and pictures and love the technology that makes her being away from us a little more bearable. We were able to meet in Bettendorf on Sunday to get Lydia. In Bettendorf, we played at the Family Museum. The museum is a nice children's museum and Lydia enjoyed her time there. We loved getting to see her face light up as she walked in and saw us.

Although we are very appreciative for the opportunity to have some time to ourselves, we do miss her and were glad to see her smiles again on Sunday.
