Sunday Funday

We had a fantastic weekend: The first in seven that we have been home in our own beds! We spent Saturday running errands around town and preparing for the Hawkeye game. It was wonderful to watch the game in the comforts of our own home and go to bed immediately following the victory! The weather has been ideal fall weather. That being said, we took advantage of the weather to attend Spoon River Drive this Sunday. We drove a total of 130 miles through rural areas of Fulton and Peoria County. Lydia enjoyed the day despite the short 1/2 hour nap she had in the car. She was rewarded with a tutu Halloween Outfit that we found at one of the craft booths in Farmington. If you are wondering what Lydia is going to be for Halloween, she has several options, but, for her professional pictures on Saturday, she is going to be a "Lydibug." I found an amazing outfit that I can't wait to make the finishing touches on for her pictures. She also has a leopard, ladybug, duck, pumpkin, and lion costume that we have collected at various clearance racks and garage sales since her arrival. If anything, Lydia will have these outfits in her playroom in the basement to play with and we will have a variety of options for upcoming Halloween events. I had to take a picture of Lydia in her carseat today. Her hands were folded politely and she was just so sweet in her seat.

Lydia is up to every day baths and has been for awhile. As a newborn, we bathed her every other day unless there was a warranted reason to bathe her on an off day. She gets into so much now that we feel she needs to daily bath to wash her off! Her hair has gotten really thick and beautiful. She has graduated to pigtails and this lovely mowhawk. We are enjoying her as she grows and loving this current stage!
