What a difference a year makes! The first picture is of this year at the Halloween event at the zoo and the second picture is of us last year at the same event. It has become a tradition for me to volunteer at the Howlzooween event passing out candy to trick-or-treaters as well as promoting the Peoria Playhouse. Lydia's friend, Andrew, and his mommy, Annie joined us volunteering and we were able to watch the monkeys afterwards. The line for the trick-or-treat trail was ridiculously long! Lydia thought the monkeys were HILARIOUS!
Earlier this week, I purchased a membership to the zoo, so hopefully we will be able to attend more frequently now that she is interacting with the animals. She also got up close and personal with a peacock, signed bird. Then dog...Then cat, then looked at me very confused until it ran away. I don't think she was very sure what type of animal it was.
Brett was dressed up to go to the retirement for Jim Owens, but was able to join us for a little bit beforehand.
