Louie, Louie 2010

Every year, Peoria has the crazy tradition of the Louie, Louie parade and festival. It is a "kick off to summer" celebration that begins with a parade and ends with music and fun down at the riverfront. We took Lydia to witness some of the Peoria antics since the parade was at 3:30pm. She loved seeing all the colorful costumes and hearing the music. Despite the parade being overtly short, she was pleasantly pleased with the outcome of the adventure. Although she is not allowed any sweets, she was given a lei and a sand bucket! She fit right in with her colorful dress and bow!

After the parade, we went to the riverfront to listen to a band for about an hour! It was too beautiful of a day not to sit outside and enjoy the weather! Now that the sun is starting to get warmer, we are increasingly more aware of the dangers of the UV rays and thus constantly on the lookout for shade or sunscreen!
